2024 Home Start Blue Ribbon Gala
Step into a world of elegance and philanthropy, where the glitz of the occasion meets the heartfelt mission of making a difference. The Home Start Blue Ribbon Gala, held at the iconic US Grant in downtown San Diego, was a celebration beyond compare.
Home Start, a beacon of hope in the realm of child abuse prevention and treatment, has been the steadfast pillar of San Diego’s communities since its inception in 1972. When I received the referral from Trisitian Stokes to capture the essence of this event through my lens, I felt deeply honored to contribute to such a noble cause.
The evening commenced with a dazzling cocktail hour, where guests mingled amidst the enchanting presence of stilt walker butterflies and moving table models. Against this backdrop of whimsy, an array of silent auction treasures awaited, ranging from captivating paintings to coveted memorabilia like a signed LaDainian Tomlinson jersey.
As the cocktail hour drew to a close, anticipation filled the air as attendees ascended to the main dining room for an unforgettable evening of dinner, dancing, speeches, awards, and the pièce de résistance – the live auction. Among the highlights of the evening was the presentation of an award to the Alliance Healthcare Foundation, recognizing their unwavering support over the years.
The live auction, conducted with flair by the incomparable Clint, was a thrilling affair, filled with spirited bidding and contagious energy. Yet, amidst the excitement, a poignant reminder of Home Start's vital work was shared through a moving video, showcasing the transformative impact they have on the community and the lives they touch.
For me, capturing the essence of this event was more than just a job – it was a privilege. Having worked with numerous nonprofits over the years, I've come to cherish the profound sense of purpose that comes from knowing that my work contributes to their noble causes. Events like the Home Start Blue Ribbon Gala serve as a poignant reminder of the power of collective action and the beauty of giving back.
In the afterglow of such an extraordinary evening, I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to play a small part in supporting Home Start's remarkable mission.
